| Should you choose to arrive the night before our departure date (most folks do), consider making arrangements with the Big Bend Motor Inn for overnight lodging. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 (Day 1 - Departure Day)We'll meet at our offices in Terlingua at 8:15 a.m. to pack our gear in waterproof bags before heading for the river. Our journey today takes us into true backcountry wilderness. We'll stop to explore some side canyons and enjoy a specially prepared river lunch. Our overnight camp will be set up alongside the Rio Grande, so while you take time to hike, explore, or just relax, our staff will prepare dinner. Darkness (and we do mean complete darkness) will kick off our celebration with Butch and Steve. Thursday, December 31, 2009 (Day 2)Another day to explore the canyons of the Rio Grande and their inner secrets! Depending on the size of the group and time schedule, we might "layover" at our camp and enjoy some nice hiking and exploring. Or we'll break camp and move further into the canyon for our New Year's Eve celebration. After dinner, Steve and Butch will fire up the guitars and the vocals and we'll bring in the new year with music, champagne and party favors. Friday, January 1, 2010 (New Years! - Day 3)After a Big Bend breakfast, we'll continue our journey down the Rio Grande with a brief stop for lunch and some more light hiking before our mid-afternoon take-out. We are generally back at the FFOC office by 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. We ProvideAll meals while at camp, guides, equipment, tents, waterproof bags, shuttle to and from the river, champagne, party favors and live music. You ProvidePersonal gear, sleeping bag and pad (we have limited quantities for rent at $20 per trip), hotel lodging on December 29 and/or January 1.
